Greenfields Nursery is privately owned by Lynsey Krzyszka and managed by Anji Alawami.
We are situated on a site adjacent to Sandgate Primary School, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for children and families within the local community.
Our After School Club is managed by Christina Johnson, ensuring children continue to receive high-quality care, engaging activities and a safe, familiar environment beyond the school day.
Our passion, dedication and knowledge in early years show in our staff. Our team are constantly striving to improve the service we offer indoors and outdoors and providing the children with a safe, secure and challenging environment.
Greenfields Nursery has been part of the local community since 1995, when it was first established by Mrs Fiona Miller.
In January 2006, the nursery was taken over by Lynsey Krzyszka (née Richards), who brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in early years education. Having previously managed other nursery settings and spent many years working as an Early Years Tutor, Lynsey was ready for a new challenge — and Greenfields was the perfect opportunity.
At the time, Greenfields was a small and welcoming nursery operating from two mobile buildings originally used as offices during the construction of the Channel Tunnel. These buildings had later been transformed into a homely nursery environment for children aged 2 to 5 years, offering 24 term-time childcare places to families within the local community.
From the moment Lynsey took over in 2006, she continued to build on the nursery’s strong foundations while investing in improvements to both the indoor and outdoor environments.
Over the years, the building was modernised with double-glazed windows and improved access ramps, while the outdoor area was redesigned to provide children with even more opportunities to learn, explore and play. New features included a soft-play area, garden spaces and dedicated areas for bikes and outdoor activities.
As Greenfields continued to grow, so did the demand for high-quality childcare and greater flexibility for working families.
After many years of maintaining and improving the original buildings, Lynsey decided it was time to make a significant investment in the future of Greenfields.
In August 2018, that vision became a reality with the development of a fantastic new purpose-built nursery — creating a modern, welcoming and inspiring environment designed around the needs of the children and families we support.
