Greenfields Nursery & After School Club

Greenfields Nursery and After School Club is privately owned and run by Lynsey Krzyszka, situated on a site adjacent to Sandgate Primary School.

We offer term-time or all year round care for children 2-5 years, children will have the opportunity to access activities and equipment in an environment which helps them to learn through play and discovery.

Forest School – Sandgate School

At Grenfields Nursery we want to give our children the opportunity to develop and grow within an area of natural beauty. Our Forest School sessions give our children a respect for nature and the natural world that surrounds them. We believe that giving our children these skills will lay the foundations for all other learning to take place. The skills that are developed through regular Forest School experiences will help shape our children’s future, not only in academic achievements but, in a love and respect for the world in which we live.

Greenfields After School Club is a fun-based club designed for children of Primary School age. Our aim is to provide a safe, secure and happy place where children can meet after school with their friends and join in the various activities which are organised for them.

This service is available for children from Sandgate Primary School.

Greenfields History

In January 2006 Lynsey Krzyszka (nee Richards) took over Greenfields from Mrs. Fiona Miller who had previously started it in 1995.

With her high knowledge in early years gained over the years of running other nurseries and then becoming an early years tutor for many years, she wanted a new challenge and Greenfields was it!

She inherited a lovely little nursery that consisted of 2 small Mobile units from euro tunnel that they had used for offices during the construction of the tunnel itself and then became the nursery for 2 -5 years offering 24  childcare places term-time only in a homely environment for families in the surrounding area.

From the start in 2006 Lynsey continued the success of Greenfields, modernizing the building with double glazing windows, access ramps and re designing the outdoor with soft play , a garden and an area for bikes amongst other lovely options for the children attending.

After years of maintaining the building and grounds and to cope with the growing demand for childcare places and needs of working families, Lynsey thought it was time she invested in a great new building! August 2018.

This itself was no easy task. The entire project had to be strictly planned to tight timelines over the 6 week summer holidays to ensure the new building was ready to the highest standards for the start of the new term.

The old Greenfields cabins were demolished in week one, foundations and drainage in week two. Then came the delivery of the new buildings, this itself was a site to see with huge cranes lifting the buildings over the grounds of the school to their new home of Greenfields!

Through all this we had so much help of local companies, Joint Electrical, Boiler Health Care. Rob Blackman for ground works and Andy Grafix . Without all their help the project just would not have been completed in such a short time. Thank you Guys .

This building could now offer so much more of a learning experience for the children attending. A new separate kitchen, private office, children’s cloakroom, disabled toilet, children’s bathroom a  garden for planting fresh vegetables, flowers and our outdoor cabin. The 2 rooms enabled us to double the capacity of children , offering all year round care  from 8.00am until 6.00pm.

Now Greenfields is secure for many years to come!
