We hope you all had a great summer and ready to return for a new term.
Just a few reminders…..
All year round children return/start Monday 1st September
Term time children return/start Monday 8th September.
Safer eating – Due to new govenment guidance from September 2025, any food brought from home must be clearly labelled with a description of the contents inside a homemade sandwich, pasta box etc. For example, ‘tuna, pasta, mayoinase and sweetcorn’. For more infortmation on this, please read the attached safer eating policy and how to cut up food in your child’s lunchbox. All staff have been trained ‘Safer eating in Early years’, and will follow new guidance on how to prepare snack, hot lunches and tea time. Please can we ask that no nuts or peanut butter be brought into nursery, as we are a nut free nursery, thank you. Also, we encourage healthy eating so please no sweets or chocolate.
Hot lunch – Those who would like your child to have a hot lunch at nursery. Hot lunches start Tuesday 2nd September. Hot lunch invoices are every half-term and will be sent sepeartely.
Labelling – Please make sure your child’s belongings are labelled. This includes bags, bottles, lunch boxes and clothing. We have 51 nursery children and 30 after school club children, all belongings must be taken home after each session due to limited space.
Suncream and hats – If it is sunny on our return please can you apply sunscream to your child before thier session and we will re apply throughout the day with either, your own cream or ours which is at a cost of £2.50 for the year. Please supply a labelled sun hat also.
Drop off and collection – 8am starters, please enter the gate and press the nursery buzzer to drop off your child. The school carpark gate will be open but closes at 8:20am for the school run, and will not open until 9:00am. 8:30am and 9:00am starters, I will be on the gate to let your child in and their key person or buddy will greet your child.
Please arrive to nursery at your start time, no earlier or later than 9:15am and ensure that you collect your child promptly, as we do charge a late collection fee of £3 every 5 minutes over your end of session time. We share the car park with Sandgate Primary School and they have asked us to remind our parents to not park on the double yellow lines or block the entrances or crossing.
At collection, please wait at the gate for a member of staff. Please do not let yourself in the garden as the safety of the children is paramount.
5. Sleepers – If your child requires a sleep, please let your child’s key person or buddy know. We ask that you bring a seperate small bag to keep at nursery with a sheet, blanket and pillow case. This will be returned to you at the end of the week on their last session.
6. Blossom updates – Your child’s key person and buddy will be focusing on settling new children and our exisiting chidlren back into a routine for the first few weeks, so please do not expect blossom updates, photos etc. Please message on Blossom’s instant messenger or call us on the nursery landline if you would like an update on your child.
